Treatment of Women through All Phases of Life

WOMEN'S HEALTH

It is said that women go through 40% of their lives dealing with hormone changes of some sort. Even when things are deemed "normal" we can be fighting fatigue, pain, weight gain and more.  Often these symptoms are either blown off as normal, or attributed to something else.  Historically, most of the medical studies that fill medical textbooks are based on men's health and do not take into account the hormonal aspect that makes women's bodies different.  We see things differently

Women’s health is a broad category that includes health issues that are unique to women, as well as conditions that affect both men and women, but that may affect women differently, such as heart disease and diabetes.  We aim to support our women patients through the phases of their lives from menstruation, through fertility, pregnancy and postpartum, to menopause and aging.  Women's bodies are unique and need to be cared for in the right way.

Ria Concepcion, L.Ac bases her treatment style on her training in the specialized Treatment of Women Through The Great Turnings of Life with East Asian Herbal Medicine program.  This program is a well known and highly regarded mentorship with the top women's health experts in the field of East Asian medicine.

Treatment of women's health has a long history in China and east asia. While the male doctors did perfunctory treatments of women, it was women within households who trained in and passed on specialized knowledge of the proper and successful treatment of the issues that women faced at every stage of their lives.  That knowledge has been meticulously preserved and passed on, and combined with our modern understandings is a powerful tool to support women through all the phases of their life.
