Belated Greetings!
I know I haven’t written in a bit, perhaps we can blame the pandemic, or I can celebrate the great fortune I’ve had over the past year to become a part of so many new lives. AB Acupuncture has thrived and I’ve already woven myself into a bit of the fabric of 72nd Street, having favorite servers at Friedmans (Hi Chris and Madeleine!) meeting and working with Chow at Zen Medica (more on this later!) and meeting the wonderful and wise Diane Rooney, who sadly (for us) has relocated to Santa Fe. I am honored and excited to welcome her patients to my practice and look forward to meeting you all over the next few months.
So far, there is a cosmetic acupuncturist who I will introduce in a separate note, I am talking to some wonderful physical therapists and will eventually invite massage therapy into the space as well. I am including some of the construction images so far, and within a week will send a quick update with some finished images. Some of the rooms will be ready in time for my opening on September 7th, the rest a week or so after that. Please bear with me in these first few weeks while the work gets finished. The address is 118 W. 72nd, ground floor rear between Columbus and Amsterdam.You will need to dial a code (there’ll be a sign) for W72 Wellness to be buzzed in.
New Features A few particular features that I would like to highlight:
As the space has been renovated completely, I was fortunate to be able to have a new HVAC with MERV 17 filters installed which have hospital level filtration capability to capture small particles, be they allergens, bacterial or viral, as well as odors, smoke etc. Additionally, the reception and waiting areas will have additional HEPA/UV units to maximize safety.
Masks will still be required all the time throughout the space, regardless of vaccination status.
All practitioners and staff in the office are (and will be) vaccinated and tested weekly.

New hydraulic tables which raise and lower electrically. No more having to climb up using a stool and no more awkward angles for me!
Meet Amanda
On the topic of staff, I have one last exciting announcement. There will finally be a front desk coordinator/office admin joining the team! I am pleased to introduce you to Amanda Burgos. (Obviously I can only have other AB's working with me) Amanda comes to AB Acupuncture from a pediatric practice (don’t expect lollipops!) and her smile and friendliness are quite infectious. I’m just thrilled that now the phone can be answered while I’m with a patient! Please bear with her as she learns the ropes and gets to know you all. The new office phone number is 646-767-0140
